Teen Wolf Shocker: Find Out Which Fan Favorite Is Not Returning for Season 4

Teen Wolf fans, prepare for the loss of another fan favorite. Following the shocking death of the MTV hit's female lead, Allison (Crystal Reed), and Aiden (Max Carver) in Monday's finale, executive producer Jeff Davis exclusively reveals to E! News that Daniel Sharman, who plays fan favorite werewolf Isaac, will not be returning for the fourth season when it premieres in June.

"Daniel Sharman came to us, much like Crystal did, and said that he wanted to go out for pilot season and for movies and try something new," Davis says.

Fortunately, fans will not have to grieve another heartbreaking death as Sharman requested that Isaac not be killed off.

"He specifically asked that we not kill off Isaac, so that he could have the chance to return. He said he loved the role so much that he wanted to be able to come back if there was a chance," Davis reveals. "But he was at a position where he wanted to stretch his creative wings and I said to him, ‘Well, if we can't convince you to come back, we'll definitely leave the door open for you.'"

He continues, "It was totally his decision, but he really loves the show. He sends me the nicest texts in the world. He loves the show and he specifically asked not to be killed off, so that he could come back someday. Whether it's the fourth season or later, I would say there's a good possibility of it."

With the show since season two, Sharman was never a series regular, but appeared in almost every episode of season three.

"I totally respect an actor who says, ‘Time to move on and I want to try other things and try other roles and maybe do movies and theater,'" Davis says. "In a show like this, we were always bringing in new blood, so it was a struggle because part of me wants to say to Daniel, ‘Please stay, we love you.' But I think he has to do what's best for him. I'm just glad that he came to us to talk about it honestly instead of a few weeks before season four started production."

Of course, Sharman's decision to exit the show isn't the first major TV departure to go down this season. Or even this week. In addition to Reed also asking to be written off Teen Wolf, The Originals' star Claire Holt decided to leave the CW drama and The Good Wife's creative team made the controversial decision to kill off Josh Charles' character after he felt it was time to move on from the CBS drama.

"It's an interesting thing when the actor says, ‘Hey, I want to try something new,'" David admits. "You to have to decide whether you're going to say, ‘Can we convince you to stay?' And as a producer, I don't want anyone to work on the show who feels like they want to move on."

As for how Sharman's exit will be addressed in season four, Davis spills that Isaac and Argent (JR Bourne), Allison's father, headed off to France at the end of the season three finale. "The story is going to be that Argent sort of takes a sabbatical in France to deal with the death of his daughter and Isaac goes with him, that's why you see them leaving out the door." (It's also worth mentioning that Davis confirms, "JR is a part of season four.")

And fans may remember that another Teen Wolf character headed off to Europe afterColton Haynes left the show after season two, with Jackson moving to London.

"I think that would be awesome: Isaac and Jackson in London," Davis jokes. "It's Teen Wolf: European!"

Teen Wolf's fourth season premieres June 23 on MTV.

Maybe don't put the actor's name in the title of the post since it gives away who is leaving? I know it'll leak by the next season but some people might prefer to be totally surprised.
